🗓️ 1-Day Itinerary

  1. 🚐 08:00 – Departure from Tirana
Meeting point: Avni Rustemi Square, New Bazaar, Tirana, Albania.
We head southwest, stopping for a short coffee break along the road at Piro Lala, before continuing toward the Western Lowlands.
  2. 🌿 Karavasta Lagoon & Divjaka National Park
Arrive around 09:00 AM and begin our adventure in Divjaka-Karavasta National Park, the largest and most beautiful lagoon on the Adriatic coast.
Separated from the sea by a dense pine forest, this protected area is part of the Ramsar Convention, recognized for its exceptional biodiversity.
  3. 🛶 Boat Trip on the Lagoon
A scenic 1.5–2-hour boat tour through the lagoon channels offers the chance to spot over 228 species of birds, including Flamingos and the Dalmatian Pelican (Pelicanus Crispus) — one of Europe’s rarest species.
A true paradise for nature and photography lovers.
  4. 🌲 Hiking through the Pine Forest
A gentle 1-hour walk under the shade of tall pines allows us to explore the heart of the national park.
The fresh sea breeze and the sound of nature make this a rejuvenating experience.
  5. 🔭 Divjaka Observation Tower & Local Museum
We’ll climb the 35-meter Observation Tower for panoramic views over the lagoon, the Adriatic Sea, and the bird colonies below.
Next, we’ll visit the local Karavasta Museum, recently built with community and EU support, to learn about the area’s ecology and traditions.
  6. 🍽️ Traditional Lunch & Relaxation
Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at one of the best local restaurants, with organic dishes typical of the area.
Afterward, relax and take photos on the Divjaka seashore, feeling the peace of Albania’s wild coast.
  7. 🏰 Bashtova Castle
Our final destination is the Bashtova Castle, located near the Shkumbin River estuary in Rrogozhinë.
Built in the 15th century by the Venetians, it was once a vital hub for Adriatic trade.
This is the only Venetian-style castle in all of Europe found in Albania — the perfect spot to enjoy a magnificent sunset over the plains and river.
