This 3-day journey takes you through the heart of Northern Albania — from the alpine village of Theth to the historical city of Shkodra, and finally to the breathtaking Komani Lake and Shala River.

🗓️ Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Tirana ➝ Theth Village (Albanian Alps Adventure)
- Pick-up from Tirana Airport or your hotel.
- Early departure (around 06:00 AM) toward Theth, northern Albania.
- The scenic drive takes about 3.5 hours, with a stop at Thore Pass (2,000 m above sea level) for a panoramic view of the Albanian Alps.
- Arrival in Theth village and accommodation at a traditional guesthouse (rooms for 2–4 people).
- Lunch with authentic Albanian mountain dishes.
- Afternoon exploration:
- Visit the Church of Theth (built in 1892 by Father Shtjefën Gjeçovi, a key figure in Albanian culture).
- Explore the Lock-in Tower — a 400-year-old “Tower of Reconciliation” that once served to mediate blood feuds.
- Hike to the Grunas Waterfall, a stunning 25-meter cascade surrounded by limestone cliffs.
7. Return to the guesthouse for dinner with traditional food, followed by a bonfire and games under the stars.
Day 2 – Theth ➝ Blue Eye ➝ Shkodra
- Breakfast at the guesthouse.
- Depart around 08:00 AM for an adventure to Theth’s Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) — one of Albania’s most magical natural wonders.
- On the way:
- Stop at Nderlysa village to swim in its crystal-clear natural pools.
- Continue to The Blue Eye of Kaprre, a turquoise spring formed by the Black River, surrounded by pristine alpine scenery.
- Enjoy free time for swimming, exploring, and relaxing.
4. Afternoon:
- Lunch at a local restaurant in Theth (not included).
- Depart toward Shkodra city, stopping for coffee or rest in Boga village, a charming mountain area.
- Arrive in Shkodra and check in at the hotel near Buna River.
5. Evening:
- Visit the Rozafa Castle, a legendary fortress rising above the Buna and Drin rivers.
- Explore Shiroka village on the shores of Lake Shkodra, famous for its lake fish and sunset views.
6. Dinner in Shiroka with local specialties.
Day 3 – Shkodra ➝ Komani Lake ➝ Shala River ➝ Tirana
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Depart at 08:30 AM for Komani Lake and the Shala River adventure.
- Highlights:
Boat sailing through Komani Lake, surrounded by towering mountain cliffs — one of Europe’s most scenic ferry routes.
Stop at Peace Island, Kauri Cave, and the turquoise shores of the Shala River (about 1-hour boat ride).
Outdoor activities:
- Swimming in crystal waters
- Zipline to Blini Park
- Optional hike to Shoshi Apple Village
- Relax and explore for about 4 hours of nature time.
Return:
4. Around 16:00, board the boat back to Komani harbor.
5. Stop at Vau i Dejës Lake for coffee at the lakeside restaurant Perla.
6. Continue toward Tirana, arriving around 21:30–22:00 PM.
