Just 32 km away from Tirana and close to the International Airport, Kruja stands proudly 608 meters above sea level, offering stunning panoramic views and deep historical significance. Known as the city of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, Albania’s national hero, Kruja became a fortress of resistance during the 15th century.
This tour takes you through centuries of history, from the ancient castle walls and museums to the vibrant Old Bazaar, where artisans still craft traditional Albanian treasures.
Itinerary
1️⃣ Departure from Tirana
Meet your guide in the city center and begin the short scenic drive toward Kruja, one of Albania’s most historic towns.
2️⃣ Visit the Skanderbeg Castle & Museum
Explore the Skanderbeg Museum, located within the castle walls dating back to the 5th–6th centuries AD. Learn about the legendary resistance that defined Albania’s national identity.
3️⃣ Stroll Through the Old Bazaar
Wander through the traditional bazaar—a living museum of Albanian craftsmanship. You’ll find embroidered textiles, carpets, silver jewelry, antiques, and more.
