Libohovë is a charming town in southern Albania, overlooked by Libohovë Castle and surrounded by the Bureto Mountain. The region forms part of the Zagori Regional Nature Park and offers panoramic views over the Drino Valley.

Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage city, is famed for its stone cobblestone streets, Ottoman-era architecture, and the magnificent Gjirokastra Castle, which dominates the city from a 336-meter-high hill.

📑 Program

👉🏻 Day 1: Tirana – Gjirokastra – Libohova

1. 07:00 – Departure from New Bazaar, A. Rustemi Square, Tirana.
   Travel by comfortable minibus with scenic stops along the way.
2. Stop for coffee / short rest (20-30 min).
   Refresh and stretch before continuing your journey.
3. Arrival in Gjirokastra – Visit Gjirokastra Castle.
   Explore the historic fortress with panoramic views of the city and learn about its rich history.
4. Free walking in the bazaar.
   Stroll through the stone streets, admire traditional architecture, and enjoy the local atmosphere.
5. Arrival in Libohova – Visit the Rrapi Quarter.
   Walk along centuries-old streets and enjoy the panoramic views of Drino Valley.
6. Lunch at guesthouse / local restaurant.
   Experience traditional Albanian dishes made with organic village products.
7. Visit Labova e Kryqit Church.
   Discover one of Albania’s oldest churches with a 13th-century Byzantine dome.
8. Explore Manastiri of Shen Thanasi.
   Admire the architecture and cultural heritage of this historic monastery.
9. Illyrian Castle of Labova – Short hike (30 min).
   Explore the ancient fort and nearby Piros Cave, inhabited since Illyrian times.
10. Dinner and overnight at a local guesthouse in Libohova.
    Enjoy traditional cuisine and a quiet evening with optional local music.

👉🏻 Day 2: Libohova – Suta Valley – Tepelena – Tirana

1. Breakfast at guesthouse.
   Start your day with fresh, local products.
2. Morning hike in Suta Valley.
   Explore caves, canyons, dense forests, and the stunning Selcken Waterfall, “the queen of the valley.”
3. Visit Ali Pasha Tepelena Bridge (Korçodhes).
   Learn about its historical importance connecting Libohova, Gjirokastra, and Janina.
4. Lunch / coffee stop in Cold Water (optional).
5. Return to Tirana – Arrival around 20:30-21:00.
   Relax after two full days of adventure and culture.
