Description
Maja e Papingut is a peak of the Nemercka mountain ridge, located in the south of Albania, near the Vjosa river. Papingu Peak is the highest point of Nemerçkë and the highest unshared peak in southern Albania at 2,482 m (8,143 ft) high. From the rocky summit there is a wonderful view of other Albanian mountains such as Tomorr and Gramos.
Winter season
To approach Papingut, leave from Gjirokaster for Libohove and continue through the Gryka e Selckës canyon to Polican. There is a guesthouse. From there, continue for about 10 kilomters in the direction of Sopik. On your way we pass through the village of Skore.
